A drug sweep in Stone County March 4 has led to the arrest of six individuals.

Stone County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton says in a news release officers from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, working with the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Mountain View Police Department executed numerous arrest warrants regarding drugs and wanted fugitives.

Those arrested included:

• 38-year-old Stephanie C. Strong of Mountain View. Strong was taken into custody at a residence along Cochise Lane.

According to the probable cause affidavit in her case, the Stone County Sheriff’s Office had received information she was allegedly dealing crystal methamphetamine. Acting on this information, a confidential informant was utilized to conduct a series of controlled buys from Strong in June and July 2021.

Strong is charged with three counts of delivery of crystal meth, Class C felonies. If convicted on these charges, she could be sentenced to three to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) on each count. Her bond was set at $30,000.

• 36-year-old Amber D. Hayes was arrested at a residence along Fowler Road just inside Izard County.

According to the probable cause affidavit in her case, an officer went to a residence along Blue Sky Road in November to serve a failure to appear warrant on an individual. While at the residence, the deputy made contact with Hays who is on probation with a search waiver on file.

The deputy asked if she had anything illegal in her purse. In response, Hayes reportedly said she had medical marijuana and an ID to purchase cannabis.

Hayes reportedly consented to a search, leading to the discovery of a black medical marijuana container with the label torn off. Inside the container were straws and three individually wrapped baggies of a white substance field testing positive as crystal meth and weighing approximately 3 grams.

Hayes is charged with possession of crystal meth with the purpose to deliver, a Class B felony, which if convicted carries a sentence from five to 20 years in the ADC. Her bond was set at $30,000.

• 38-year-old Fanny Green of Mountain View was arrested at a residence along South Riggsville Drive in Mountain View.

According to the probable cause in her case, Green’s vehicle was stopped early on the morning of Nov. 17 when a deputy detected it did not display a proper tag. The stop followed a complaint of a reckless driver of a vehicle matching the description of Green’s.

The deputy noted he smelled the odor of burned and green marijuana upon making contact with the driver, later identified as Green. He also noted she appeared to be “extremely nervous.”

Green said she had a medical marijuana card, but the cannabis was not in the original container.

She reportedly consented to a search of her vehicle. With backup from a Mountain View Police Department officer, a search was conducted leading to a glass smoking device and a plastic baggie weighing approximately 28 grams and containing a white substance that field tested positive for crystal meth.
