Authorities are investigating an apparent double homicide in Marshall. The bodies of Jean Tibbs and James Belt were located Saturday afternoon at Tibbs’ residence.
According to a spokesperson from the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall Police Department responded to the residence on Range Street following a call from an acquaintance. Law enforcement says Tibbs and Belt, a resident of Red Bluff Road in rural Searcy County, had been dead for a period of time.
The bodies have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock to determine the cause of death. The incident is under investigation by the Marshall Police Department and the Arkansas State Police.
