MHHS track teams do well at Vilonia, one new school record set

The Mountain Home High School track teams had a good showing at the Jerry Roberts Memorial Relays in Vilonia Thursday. The Bombers finished second, highlighted by a new school record in one event, and the Lady Bombers finished third. Yellville-Summit had a fifth place finish on the girls’ side while the boys were ninth.

The Mountain Home boys’ 4×200 meter relay team set a new school record in winning the event. The new record of 1:35:14 beat the old record, set last year, by 1.3 seconds. Members of the relay team are Brody Patterson, Adrian Bzdel, Dylan McBride and Anderson Hodges.

Mountain Home also won the boys’ 4×800 meter relay.

Individually for the Bombers, Brady Barnett won the long jump, Bryson Hodges won the 1600 meter run with William Hill fifth, Michael Davis finished second in the pole vault, Ky Bickford finished second in the 800 meter run with Anderson Hodges fourth, Levi Uchtman tied for third in the high jump, Robert Dover was third in the shot put and fourth in the discus, McBride was fourth in the 300 meter hurdles and Austin Callies finished fifth in the pole vault.

Individually for Yellville-Summit, Tyler Barrett won the shot put and discus and Lucas McVay finished fourth in the pole vault.

On the girls’ side for Mountain Home, Cayden Jones won the shot put and the discus, Jordan Ritenburg won the 1600 meter run, Laurel Chafin finished second in the 100 meter hurdles and Rylee Patterson was fourth in the 800 meter run.

Individually for Yellville-Summit, Kambree Gibson finished second in the long jump, third in the 100 meter dash and fifth in the 300 meter hurdles; KJ Moore tied for third in the high jump

In team events for Yellville-Summit, the 4×100 meter relay team finished second.
