The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has released the final revised Norfork Lake Master Plan and Associated Environmental Assessment.
The public is invited to visit the master plan revision webpage to view the final edition at https://go.usa.gov/x7bXZ
Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, USACE will not hold traditional final release public workshops.
The master plan for Norfork Lake is the guidance document describing how the resources will be managed in the future and provides the vision for how it should look in the future.
Additionally, USACE will begin accepting shoreline use requests until May 1. Shoreline use requests on Norfork Lake were suspended May 1, 2020 to establish a baseline of the lake, while revising the 33-year-old master plan.
Shoreline use permits are issued for boat docks, pedestrian foot paths, vegetation modification and ambulatory assistance vehicular access.
Once the recreation season ends Sept. 30, the Mountain Home Project Office will begin accepting shoreline use requests annually from Oct. 1 through April 30.
For more information contact the Mountain Home Project Office at 870-425-3795 or by emailing ceswl-mh@usace.army.mil.
