A body found submerged in a vehicle last week at the Cold Springs access in Mammoth Spring has been identified, and another man suspected in his murder reportedly committed suicide following a police chase Monday night in Paragould. According to KAIT, Fulton County Sheriff Chief Deputy Jake Smith confirmed Rodney Trammell Jr. was the suspect wanted in the death of 45-year-old Larry Galloway.

Greene County Sheriff Steve Franks says investigators learned where Trammell was and activated the SWAT teams from Greene County and the Paragould Police Department.

Trammell left the residence, and an Arkansas state trooper attempted to pull him over. Sheriff Franks says Trammell failed to yield, leading to the chase along U.S. Highways 412 and 49. The chase ended when Trammell’s vehicle crashed into a pole and rolled over.

The two deputies in the lead of the pursuit reportedly ran up to the suspect’s vehicle. Sheriff Franks says the suspect turned to the deputies, pulled out a gun and shot himself.

The report did not indicate the cause and manner of Galloway’s death. The incident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
