Primary Election results released for Baxter County

A number of races have been determined and runoff competitors selected for Baxter County during the Primary Election held Tuesday.A runoff election will take place between Brian Plumlee and Kevin Litty for Baxter County Judge. Plumlee received 3,472 votes, or 44%, with Litty trailing behind with 2,714 votes or 35%. The other two candidates involved in the county judge’s race included Eric Payne and Shannon Feliccia. Payne received 10% of votes, Feliccia received 11%.Incumbent Sheriff John Montgomery has been reelected as Baxter County Sheriff for his ninth term. He faced challengers John L. Pate and Henry Campfield. Montgomery led the votes with 69%, Campfield followed with 22% and Pate with 9%.

The District 10 Justice of the Peace position will be determined during a runoff election. Shannon Walker received 47% of votes with Sheila Wingard following with 25%. Candidates Ernest Adkins and Vincent Anderson were kicked from the race. Adkins received 4% of votes, Anderson received 24%.

Incumbent Ty Chapman has will keep the District 11 Justice of the Peace position after receiving 51% of votes against Tom Canta who received 49%.

Incumbent Patrick D. Smith won the position for District 2 Constable with 52% of votes against Daniel K. Carley who received 48%.

Tyler Brown has been elected as District 8 Constable after receiving 57% of votes against opponent Randy Sandland who received 43%.

Bob Chester defeated Incumbent Arnold Knox for position 2 on the Mountain Home School Board with 52% of votes. Knox received 48%.

Incumbent Barbara Horton will keep position 4 on the Mountain Home School Board after defeating challenger Carrie Ramsey. Horton received 57% of votes, Ramsey received 43%.

Incumbent Chad McGowan will keep position 4 on the Norfork School Board after winning by 64% of votes over Elayna Southard who received 36%.
