First case of Monkeypox reported in Arkansas, BRMC official discusses what to watch for

The first case of Monkeypox was reported in Arkansas this week, and three cases have been confirmed in Missouri. The virus, while similar to smallpox, is less transmissible and usually causes less severe illness. Their are two vaccines approved for use in the United States, but not everyone can take them.

Jennifer Hawkins is an Infection Preventionist with Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. She joined Brad Haworth during the news at 7 Friday morning to talk more about Monkeypox.
