The Arkansas Department of Health has issued boil orders in parts of Newton and Fulton Counties.

A boil order was issued Friday for the Ash Flat Water Company. Approximately 50 customers located in the area of Highway 62/412 between Saddle Club Road and Trivitt Lane in Fulton County are being affected. The order was issued due to a main break.

The boil order in Newton County was also issued Friday due to a main break. The order impacts the Nail-Swain Water Association including all services south of Highway 16 at Cassville, including Fallsville, Salus and Oark.

A boil order issued June 23 for Izard County is still in effect. The order was issued due to inadequate disinfectant levels and impacts the entire Easy K Ranch system.

All three boil orders will remain in effect until further notice.

All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
