The 2022 Hootin an Hollarin festival got underway Thursday night with the highlight being the annual queen pageant. This year’s queen is Olivia Milligan, Gainesville High School, daughter of Jolene and Brian Burton and Doyle and Debby Milligan. Ashley Dunn of Gainesville, daughter of Crystal Wilson, is deputy queen. Princesses are Mary Jane Flygare, Lutie High School, daughter of Lorraine Blache and Rachel Blache; Cheyenne Wachtel, Gainesville High School, daughter of Mark and Sylvia Wachtel; and Jessee Latham, Gainesville High School, daughter of Carol and Jon Latham. Jasmine Hall, Bakersfield High School, daughter of Mike Hall and the late Vicky Hall, was elected Miss Sweetie Pie by her fellow contestants.
