A Marion County man is facing multiple charges of domestic battery, endangering the welfare of a minor and assault on a family member following an incident that occurred September 6.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 49-year-old Greg Haworth of Yellville is accused of physically attacking a juvenile by picking them up by the shirt and throwing them across the room along with stepping on their head. The responding officer observed the victim to have extensive injuries to their face including a large knot on the forehead, swelling and bruising to the face, arm, and lower right back.

Haworth was supervising the juvenile while the victim’s mother and grandmother were at work. When they returned home, they immediately noticed the child had bumps, bruises and scrapes all over their face. The victim’s mother told the officer that Haworth began attacking her and the grandmother, chasing them out of the house and the mother was able to grab the child on their way out. During the altercation, Haworth punched the grandmother and bit her several times before they were able to find safety at a neighbor’s house. The neighbor was able to convince Haworth to go to the hospital, and called 911 after he left.

Haworth was arrested and charged with 2nd degree domestic battery, 1st degree endangering the welfare of a minor, two counts of domestic battery, and two counts of assault on a family member. He was released on $15,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with the victims, must not approach the residence and at least 1/2 mile away, and prohibited from using drugs or alcohol.
