The first criminal case opened on 31-year-old Christian Blake Sisk was 12 years ago, and he appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday to face the latest of his charges.

After pleading guilty to drug-related charges, Sisk was sentenced to eight years in prison.

He was arrested in mid-April after the black Jeep Liberty he was driving was stopped by an Arkansas State Police trooper.

The trooper said he had gotten behind the Sisk vehicle as it merged onto the Sheid-Hopper Bypass from Arkansas Highway 5 and observed it cross over the centerline numerous times. In addition, the taillights on the Jeep were reported not to be working.

When the trooper stopped the vehicle and asked for Sisk’s driver’s license, he said he did not have it with him, but did provide a Social Security card in his name.

The trooper said during the initial contact, he observed that Sisk’s hands were shaking.

Sisk denied having anything illegal on his person and permitted the trooper to search. At one point, the trooper asked Sisk what he had shoved down his pants.

Sisk said, “points,” meaning hypodermic syringes, but said they were “clean” and belonged to his diabetic grandfather.

After another trooper arrived on the scene, a white substance was detected on the plunger of one of the syringes. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

At that point, Sisk was taken into custody.

Before entering the Baxter County jail, Sisk was questioned about having anything illegal on his person. He denied he did.

However, when jailers searched Sisk, they found two plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine in his groin region.

Sisk was charged with a number of drug offenses as well as traffic violations.

Since 2010, Sisk’s charges have included commercial burglary, residential burglary, theft of property, terroristic threatening, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, selling drugs, battery, forgery, criminal mischief, attempting to bring prohibited items into the county jail and tampering with physical evidence.

In many of the cases, several counts of an individual crime are charged.

Court records indicate that Sisk has had criminal charges brought against him in Baxter, Izard and Washington Counties.

The Washington County case against Sisk was opened in early June. He is charged with trafficking in Fentanyl, possessing methamphetamine and a digital scale used for weighing narcotics prior to packaging them. He is also charged with obtaining another person’s identifying information without their knowledge and using the information for an unlawful purpose.
