
No new developments were reported Monday in the search for a missing hiker at the Buffalo National River. Missing is 67-year-old Clinton Preston Smith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Officials say six ground teams continued the search Monday and search efforts from the air also started.
Smith has not returned from a hike that he started Thursday morning in the Hemmen-In-Hollow Trail within Buffalo National River. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black shirt.
Park Rangers, Newton County Sheriff’s Office and Buffalo National River Search and Rescue volunteers are conducting a search of the area for Smith. No further volunteers are needed for the search at this time.
Smith’s vehicle was located at the Hemmed-in-Hollow trailhead.
