Cotter wins 2 boys’ games over Haas Hall-Rogers; Norfork High School splits with Shirley

Cotter was able to win two boys’ basketball games over Haas Hall-Rogers on Tuesday.
The Warriors won the senior high game over the Danes 80-61. Hudson Adams was Cotter’s top scorer with 25 points, David Roger had 17, Payton McGee finished with 16, and Trace Ewing added 11 points.
Cotter also defeated Haas Hall-Rogers 54-40 in the junior high contest. Cole Tilton paced the Junior Warriors with 16 points.

Norfork split a pair of high school games at Shirley.
The Lady Panthers invoked the mercy rule as they routed the Lady Blue Devils 71-25. Norfork was led by Keely Blanchard with 27 points, Kiley Alman provided 12, and Liza Shaddy chipped in 10. The Lady Panthers improve to 11-3 on the season and 4-0 in the 1A-2.
Norfork had a different result in the boys’ contest with a 57-46 loss to Shirley. Jackson Davis was the Panthers’ leading scorer with 12 points. Norfork falls to 2-10 on the year and 1-3 in the conference.

The Yellville-Summit High School teams were able to sweep Greenland at home. The Lady Panthers put the mercy rule in effect as they pounded the Lady Pirates 59-21. Yellville-Summit’s boys also topped Greenland 57-51.

The Viola High School teams had mixed results in conference games at Calico Rock.
The Lady Longhorns defeated the Lady Pirates by a final of 39-16. Kailey Hallmark led Viola with 18 points, and A.J. McCandlis ended up with 13. The Lady Longhorns improve to 6-3 on the season. Calico Rock falls to 1-12.
Viola did not fare as well in the boys’ game as they lost to the Pirates 51-28. The Longhorns were led by Braden Williams with 14 points. Landon Russell scored 18 points for Calico Rock. Viola drops to 0-10 on the year. The Pirates are now 8-7.

The high school teams from Ozark Mountain went to Centerton and picked up a sweep over Life Way Christian. The Bears breezed past the Warriors 71-42 in the boys’ game. Ozark Mountain got past Life Way Christian 54-53 in the girls’ contest.

Salem ended up with two easy high school basketball wins over Cave City. The Lady Greyhounds first beat up on the Cavewomen 68-25. Salem later topped Cave City 53-33 in the boys’ game.

The Mammoth Spring High School teams had mixed results at Manila.
The Lady Bears handled the Lady Lions with a 63-40 victory. Brynn Washam paced Mammoth Spring with 28 points, and Tay Davis added 23.
Mammoth Spring’s boys were not as fortunate as they fell to Manila 65-41. The Bears were led by Gavin Boddie with 13 points, and Blake Rogers chipped in 11.

Melbourne’s boys had a rough night on the road. The Bearkatz ended up falling to Newport 55-40.

Mountain View was able to pick up a pair of road victories at Walnut Ridge. The Yellowjackets destroyed the Bobcats 56-22 in the boys’ game. Mountain View’s girls also beat Walnut Ridge 37-27.

The Lead Hill High School teams split their home games with Alpena. The Lady Tigers edged out the Lady Leopards 32-31. The boys’ game had a different result with Lead Hill losing to Alpena 59-39.

Both Jasper High School teams had their way with Oark. The Lady Pirates began by throttling the Lady Hornets 62-15. Jasper’s boys later routed Oark 80-38.
