With Saturday being Christmas Eve, children in the Twin Lakes Area and all over the world will be anxious to know how Santa Claus’ flight path is progressing. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has been tracking Santa’s path since 1958, and that tradition will continue Saturday evening.
According to NORAD, Santa has historically started his route by visiting the South Pacific. He then follows through to New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Asia, Africa, Europe, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America and South America. In most countries, Santa reportedly arrives between 9 and midnight on Christmas Eve. If children are awake when he arrives, he moves on to other houses. He returns later, but only when the children are asleep.
We expect to be hearing from NORAD throughout night, so tune in to KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot for the latest updates. Santa’s latest path can also be followed online at noradsanta.org, and NORAD staff members will be available by phone toll-free at 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723). Operators will be available until midnight.
