The Mountain Home High School teams wrapped up action in the Arkansas State Wrestling Tournament at the Jack Stephens Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
The Bomber boys were the state runners-up in Class 5A, finishing only behind Van Buren. Mountain Home picked up individual titles from Austin Callies in the 157-pound division and Elijah Lagg in the 285. They were joined on the All-State team by six other Bombers as Michael Davis was second in the 132, Ross McDonald ended up second in the 138, Isaiah Merry took second place in the 165, Brayden McCoy finished second in the 190, Seth King was third in the 106, and Ethan Munden ended up fourth in the 144.
Mountain Home took fourth place on the girls’ side. Searcy won the championship, Sylvan Hills finished second, and Van Buren was third. Amelia Frounfelter won the individual crown in the 155-pound division, was named the most outstanding wrestler for the upper weight divisions and was one of five Lady Bombers on the All-State team. Kylie Alford ended up second in the 110-pound division, Lillian Wood took third place in the heavyweight division, Emalyn Stephens finished fourth in the 120, and Leigha Gatewood was fourth in the 140.
