A Boone County man has been arrested in connection with a stolen debit after using it at a local business.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the Harrison Police Department received a report of a stolen debit card. The victim told law enforcement she used her card at the ATM at Bank Ozk to deposit cash, but had forgotten remove her card from the machine. She later found out $11.95 had been charged to her card at Tobacco World on West Central Avenue.

During the investigation, officers obtained security footage from Tobacco World, showing an individual later identified as 42-year-old Aaron Fitzgerald, making a purchase with the victim’s card. Security footage from the ATM showed the victim using the ATM and shortly after, a silver Chevrolet 1500 pulled up to the ATM, where Fitzgerald was identified in the passenger seat.

Fitzgerald was arrested and charged with theft of property and fraudulent use of a debit card. He is currently being held in the Boone County Jail on $5,000 bond.
