
Baseball and softball make up much of the local Thursday schedule as several area teams will be in postseason play.
The 2A-1 District Baseball Tournament gets started at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. On Jack Williams Field, Yellville-Summit and Marshall get started at 4, and the winner faces top-seeded Greenland in the semifinals at 6:30. On Pippin Field, Ozark Mountain takes on Life Way Christian at 4, and Cotter plays the winner at 6:30.
Two area baseball teams will square off in the 3A-1 District Tournament at Lincoln. Flippin will be paired with Valley Springs at 5.
Melbourne’s baseball team will be in Tuckerman for the semifinals of the 3A-2 District Tournament. The top-seeded Bearkatz face the host Bulldogs at 4.
Elsewhere on the baseball schedule, Bakersfield travels to Cabool, Gainesville hosts Thayer, and Dora makes the trip to Salem, Missouri.
The Equity Bank Sports Complex will also be the site for the 2A-1 District Softball Tournament. Yellville-Summit and Ozark Mountain begin at 4, and top-seeded Cotter takes on the winner in the semifinals at 8. Marshall plays Greenland in the other semifinal at 6.
Flippin’s softball team will be in Lincoln for its first game in the 3A-1 District Tournament. The Lady Bobcats will be matched up with Green Forest at 4.

Izard County will be the site for the semifinals of the 2A-2 District Tournament. The Lady Cougars face Quitman at 5:30.
Two area softball teams will face each other on the opening night of the 1A-1 East District Tournament at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. Lead Hill and Omaha get underway at 5.
In other high school softball, Dora heads to Winona.
