Humane Society of North Central AR receives grant

Humane Society of North Central Arkansas of Baxter County announced it has been awarded a $3,500 grant from the Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation to support its lifesaving efforts of helping the low-income community members spay/neuter personal pets.

The investment will help community animals receive spay and neuter services. The investment will also help to reduce the number of pets entering the shelter setting.

Shelter Manager at the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas Carolyn Carter states “this grant is very important to the pets in the community. The support of the Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation allows the Humane Society to continue their lifesaving work of making a difference in the lives of the animals.”

The purpose and policy of the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas is to protect, care for, and reduce the population of neglected, abandoned, homeless, unwanted or abused animals by serving Baxter County and 25 miles of surrounding area. Since 1976, the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas has been a safe haven to thousands of pets, by providing spay/neuter surgeries to thousands of family pets and community cats.
