A Cherokee Village man who was reported missing last Saturday, was found dead in Lake Cherokee Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Cherokee Village Police Department, witnesses last reported 35-year-old Derek Hughes leaving the Copper Feather Bar and Grille intoxicated. Investigators state it was unclear if Hughes left on foot or in a vehicle. His phone was pinged but the restaurant was the last location indicated on his phone.
Hughes’ body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy.
