A boil water order is in effect for several residents in the city of Mountain View. According to the Arkansas Department of Health, Mountain View Waterworks put the order in effect early Monday evening.
The boil order was issued due to a water line break. It affects customers on Edgar, Vine, Rock, Union, Knox and Lancaster Avenues and Jackson, Washington, Clarence, Oak and Briarwood Streets. Residents living on King Avenue north of Clarence Street are also affected.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.
All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
