A recent local high school graduate will be continuing her athletic career on the collegiate level. Yellville-Summit’s Kambree Gibson signed a national letter of intent to join the track and field program at Missouri State University in Springfield.
Gibson says there are a couple of factors in her decision to become a Lady Bear.
Listen:
Gibson is coming off a season in which she led Yellville-Summit to their third straight state championship. In the state meet, she was the individual champion in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Gibson ended her career with the Lady Panthers as a two-time All-State selection in both track and basketball.
Gibson says the time she spent playing both sports at Yellville-Summit has helped prepare her for becoming an NCAA Division I athlete.
Listen:
Kambree is the daughter of Ben and Christy Gibson of Flippin.
