MacLeod doubles up Alley-White in home finale

Mountain Home’s two American Legion junior baseball teams squared off Friday at Cooper Park in their final home outings. MacLeod doubled up Alley-White 12-6.

Nate Henderson got the win in relief with 2 1/3 innings, two strikeouts and two hits. Garrett Templeman suffered the loss.

Dawson Dunlap led the MacLeod offense by going 2-for-4, scoring a run, driving in two more and stealing two bases; Jordan Corbett was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs; and Jackson Corp went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. For Alley-White, Coty Foster was 2-for-4 with an RBI; and Peyton Bodenhamer went 1-for-1, drew a walk, was hit by a pitch and drove in a run.

MacLeod will wrap up its regular season in Brockwell on Saturday as they face North Central Arkansas. The first pitch at Izard County High School is scheduled for 5:30.

Alley-White will be in Conway on Monday to begin its run in the Arkansas American Legion 17-and-Under State Tournament.
