A reception was held in the Vada Sheid Community Development Center Tuesday for Arkansas State University-Mountain Home Chancellor Dr. Robin Myers as he gets ready to retire, and a few special announcements were made during the ceremony. The most notable was the university’s technical center being renamed the Dr. Robert L. Myers Technical Education Campus.

The addition of the technical center occurred during Myers’ tenure, and ASU System President Dr. Chuck Welch says he believes it’s one of the best in Arkansas.

The first presentation during the reception was given on behalf of the city of Mountain Home. Mayor Hillrey Adams gave Myers a proclamation declaring July 18, 2023, as Dr. Robin Myers Day. Adams says it’s tough to describe what Myers has meant to the university and the community.
