The triple digit heat index values return to the Twin Lakes Area. In north central Arkansas, a heat advisory will be in effect for Baxter, Fulton, Izard and Stone counties and the higher elevations of southern Searcy County and Newton County from noon Saturday through 8 Sunday evening. More heat advisories will be in effect Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8 each day for Marion and Boone counties, the lower elevations of Searcy and Newton counties and the higher elevations of northwest Searcy County.
In southern Missouri, an excessive heat warning will be in effect for Ozark, Taney and Douglas counties from noon Saturday through 10 Thursday night. Howell County will be under an excessive heat warning from noon Sunday through 10 Thursday night.
Meteorologist Colby Pope from the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock says area residents and visitors will need to use caution if they need to be outdoors during the next few days.
