A Baxter County man has been arrested for allegedly threatening his neighbors and pointing a gun at them. The incident that led to the arrest of 59-year-old Stephen Michael Kotlowski of Henderson happened Thursday evening.
The probable cause affidavit in the case indicates the victims were pulling out of their driveway and saw Kotlowski sitting outside of his residence, pointing a gun in their direction. They allege Kotlowski then cocked the gun and aimed at them again.
The victims pulled into an adjacent driveway to check on Kotlowski because they said they care about his well being. The victim says they asked Kotlowski why he was shooting at them. They say Kotlowski told them to get off his property or he “was going to kill him.” It’s alleged Kotlowski pointed the gun at the victim again and pulled the trigger twice, then laughed saying “it ain’t loaded. Kotlowski then allegedly pulled a knife and told the victim he “needed to leave the state of Arkansas or he was going to cut his throat.”
When deputies arrived, the discovered Kotlowski was intoxicated and didn’t understand why he was in trouble because the gun wasn’t loaded.
Kotlowski is facing two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count of terroristic threatening and a misdemeanor count of public intoxication. His bond is set at $10,000.
