Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 30 is preparing for our annual Veterans Appreciation Picnic at ASU in Mountain Home on October 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM to l :00 PM. Invited Guests: Dr. Marjory Scott, Director of Central Arkansas Veterans
Healthcare System; Major General Kendall Penn, Secretary of Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, DAV State Commander Billy Sanders and Special invitation to Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin.
This is the 18th annual event to which all veterans and their families are invited in order that the community may show its appreciation for their service and sacrifices and to reach out to Veterans and their families who may need help. Members of the Mountain Home High School Junior ROTC program also contribute their time to serve the Veterans at this function by serving the meal. Many venders who provide services to Veterans will attend.
Disabled American Veterans is joined by Good Samaritan Society to provide food and the volunteers to cook and serve the veterans. Made possible by donations and contributions from businesses and individuals in the community, cash and/or in kind contributions.
