The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Monday they are scheduling a full road closure for Arkansas Highway 178 across the Bull Shoals Dam beginning Sept. 18 at 6:30 until Sept. 20 at 5 to deploy and remove equipment used to perform routine maintenance on the dam.
The closure is being coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies.
Motorists should plan an alternate route during the road closure. Alternate routes include Hwy. 178 and Arkansas Highway 5 to Arkansas Highway 126 through Midway and Gassville, U.S. Highway 62/412 through Flippin, and Hwy. 178 through Bull Shoals.
