Mountain Village 1890 in Bull Shoals has recently received the distinction of being named a National Historic Site. A popular local tourist attraction for 63 years the site is a collection of much older historic buildings from around north central Arkansas and southern Missouri with Bull Shoals Caverns also sharing the property.
The public is invited to attend a dedication ceremony Saturday from 4 until 6. A presentation with light refreshments and enhanced guided tours are planned for the event.
Operations Manager James Jensen was recently on Talk of the Town with Sammy Raycraft and he says the new designation will create new opportunities for the site.
Listen:
Jensen shared how despite the odds and many other similar attractions across the state closing the site has stayed open through the years and this next chapter is a testament to the community and the people supporting it.
