Tuesday is a day of celebration as KTLO marks our 70th anniversary of KTLO-AM first signing on the air in 1953. As part of the celebration, Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams will read a proclamation at noon to honor KTLO.

KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot are locally owned, like many other businesses in the Twin Lakes Area. Co-owners Heather Loftis and Danny Ward say it’s the local companies that are so instrumental in helping the stations reach this milestone.

In March of 1994 was another event many area residents still talk about, something Loftis was a part of.

The 70th anniversary celebration is scheduled for Tuesday from 10-2 at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University Mountain Home.

The public is invited and we will be broadcasting live from the event with $770 in the treasure chest. Free hot dogs and cookies will be served along with other food samples. Every 15 minutes, someone will win a $50 gift card and drawings will be held for other prizes.
