Two vehicles reportedly stolen out of Springfield have been retrieved in Douglas County. Forty-three-year-old Nathan Rogers of Springfield and 48-year-old Arnellia Cox of Branson are currently in the Douglas County Jail, facing multiple felony counts in connection with the theft.

Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase says he received information about a suspicious U-haul-type truck and a pickup truck in the Goodhope area near the Feedbag Store and Little Beaver Creek on Nov. 27, four days after similar vehicles were reported stolen out of Springfield. An off-duty deputy later observed the vehicles and followed them to the Feedbag Store.

Two deputies were able to locate one of the vehicles at the Feedbag Store and confirm it had been stolen. A male, identified as Rogers, was taken into custody at the time on an outstanding Christian County warrant for failure to appear on a felony possession of a controlled substance charge in June of last year.

Sheriff Degase reportedly located the second stolen vehicle at a nearby residence Rogers was attempting to establish as his new home plan as he had just been released from the Department of Corrections on Aug. 30. A search of the vehicle resulted in the location of syringes and scales field-testing positive for methamphetamine.

A female with Rogers, identified as Cox, was also arrested as a result of the investigation for her involvement in the crime. Rogers and Cox reportedly admitted to recent methamphetamine use.

In addition to the vehicles, several firearms and several thousands of dollars worth of tools were also reported missing. Sheriff Degase and deputies were able to recover one of the stolen firearms and various tools.

Rogers and Cox are both charged with two felony counts of stealing a motor vehicle and one felony count each of stealing $750 or more, stealing a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a controlled substance. The cash-only bond is set at $25,000 for Rogers and $20,000 for Cox.
