Calico Rock Community Foundation officials are reporting Saturday’s Christmas parade drew the biggest turnout in its history. Several winners were also announced from the parade’s contests.
Izard Regional Hospital won the living window competition and will receive $250. First National Bank of Izard County came away with $150 as the runner-up, and Bluegrass featuring Claire and Lori were awarded $50 for third place.
The Calico Rock High School Band won the award for the best float of the parade. NEXT, powered by NAEC, finished in second place.
The fire truck competition was won the Pineville Fire Department. Rodney-Jordan was second, and Calico Rock ended up third.
There was also a competition for the best ATV. The winner was Pinkmas! featuring Caroline, Alia and Mylie.
The Calico Rock High School Band and Choir Concert is scheduled for Thursday night. The Calico Rock Elementary School Christmas Concert will be held on Monday. For more information, look for Calico Rock School District Music on Facebook.
