A Baxter County man has been arrested following an assault on a law enforcement officer.

The probable cause affidavit in the case states, on the night of Dec. 2, a Mountain Home Police Department officer pulled into the sally port with a detainee identified as 43-year-old David Alexander Dziabula. Officials went to assist with Dziabula due to him allegedly not being cooperative and kept trying to push and pull away from authorities and calling them expletives.

When Dziabula was asked what was going on, he reportedly started to talk and spit in the face of an official and when a comment was made for him not to continue those actions, he reportedly turned to the official and spit in their face intentionally. As Dziabula was being escorted into the body scanner room of the sheriff’s department, he reportedly again spit in the face of officers.

Dziabula has been charged with a felony count of aggravated assault on a certified law enforcement officer or an employee of a correctional facility.

He has been released on a $5,000 bond.
