Twin Lakes Community Foundation looks to make life better for local community

For nearly two decades, an organization has been dedicated to making life better for the people of the local area. The Twin Lakes Community Foundation accomplishes its goal by establishing endowments granting funds to aid in resolving community needs.

Twin Lakes Community Foundation Kimberly Jones will be a guest on the Talk of the Town later this month on KTLO-FM. Jones says 2023 was a banner year for the local organization, and she expects the demand to grow again this year.

The foundation started in 2022 as one of 29 affiliates throughout the state of the Arkansas Community Foundation. Money will get endowed in different categories including education, healthcare, food security, arts and animal welfare. Numerous grants are made every year with over $350,000 per year going to assist the local community.

Jones says beginning Wednesday, the foundation will begin accepting applications for Giving Tree grants.

Any 501(c)(3), a church, a school, a government agency or a hospital can apply for a grant. The organization either needs to be located in Baxter, Marion, Fulton or Izard County, or it can be located outside of the four-county area but still serve one of those counties. Last year, nearly $34,000 in grant money was split between 24 different organizations.

Jones says she can talk to anyone about an organization he or she would like to start granting funds toward, and to have an endowment invested, a minimum of $10,000 is required.

For more information on grants or how to support a cause, contact Jones by phone at 870-290-3182 or via email to twinlakes@arcf.org.
