Nine boil water orders have been issued in parts of Stone, Searcy and Izard counties.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health, the orders have been issued in Stone County for the West Stone County Water Association affecting customers along Highway 66 and all side roads including Highway 263 South to Old Brewer Road, and Highway 9 South to Shirley; Mountain View Waterworks for the entire system; Pleasant Grove Waterworks for the entire system; Fifty Six Waterworks for the entire system; and Sylamore Valley Water Association for the entire system.
In Searcy County, a boil water order has been issued for the West Stone County Water Association for the customers along Highway 66 and all side roads, including Highway 263 South to Old Brewer Rd and Highway 9 South to Shirley and for the Leslie Water System for the customers on Old Highway 66.
In Izard County, a boil water order has been issued for the Guion Water Department for the entire system.
All boil orders were issued Tuesday due to pump malfunctions.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
