Friday basketball results include MHCA getting swept by Lead Hill on Senior Night

The Mountain Home Christian Academy varsity basketball teams had a rough Senior Night on Friday as they were swept by Lead Hill.
The Lady Eagles came up just a little short in the girls’ game. Mountain Home Christian fell to the Lady Tigers 37-33.
Mountain Home Christian also lost the boys’ contest 72-23. Haygan Dotson was Lead Hill’s top scorer with 15 points, Nolan Turner recorded 13 points and 10 steals, and Kaden Baker added 11 points.

Cotter split its high school games at Greenland. The Lady Warriors defeated the Lady Pirates 39-31. Cotter did not fare as well in the boys’ contest as they fell to Greenland 42-36.

Norfork had mixed results in its games against Shirley. The Lady Panthers invoked the mercy rule as they beat up on the Lady Blue Devils 71-30. Norfork was edged out by Shirley in the boys’ game 55-54.

Flippin’s boys ended their Senior Night on a tough note. The Bobcats ended up losing to Elkins 44-42.

Yellville-Summit was able to sweep Life Way Christian on homecoming night. The Lady Panthers destroyed the Lady Warriors 53-12. Yellville-Summit also took the boys’ game 73-44.

The Viola girls picked up a win on their homecoming night. The Lady Longhorns topped Omaha by a final of 57-28.

Calico Rock’s boys ended up losing on their home floor. The Pirates fell to Timbo 41-31.

Salem split its high school games at Tuckerman.
The Lady Greyhounds beat the Lady Bulldogs 52-41. Marleigh Sellars paced Salem with 14 points, Olivia Dockins scored 13, and Callie Hall chipped in 10. The Lady Greyhounds improve to 18-5 on the year and 11-0 in the 3A-2.
The boys’ game had a different result. Salem ended up falling to Tuckerman 59-49.

Izard County picked up a three-game sweep over South Side-Bee Branch on Senior Night.
The Cougars put the mercy rule in effect in the senior boys’ game as they routed the Hornets 71-32. Izard County was led by Gabe Spray with 23 points, and Keaton Melton had 13. The Cougars are now 17-7 on the season and 9-3 in the 2A-2.
Izard County was able to get past South Side 60-57 in the senior girls’ contest. Quinn Johnson was the Lady Cougars’ leading scorer with 19 points, and Olivia Spray provided 14. Izard County improves to 17-7 overall and 8-4 in the league.
Izard County’s junior girls began the evening by edging out South Side 40-38. Hallie Skidmore led the Junior Lady Cougars with 23 points. Izard County is 6-7 on the year and 3-3 in conference play.

The Melbourne High School teams were able to pick up a sweep over Walnut Ridge. The Bearkatz topped the Bobcats 67-45 in the boys’ game. Melbourne’s girls squeaked by Walnut Ridge 61-60.

Marshall split its high school games with Sloan-Hendrix at Imboden. The Lady Bobcats breezed past the Lady Greyhounds 63-35. Marshall had a different result in the boys’ game as they fell to Sloan-Hendrix 72-70.

The Mountain View boys were able to get an easy win in front of the home crowd. The Yellowjackets pounded Newport 84-37.

Bergman’s boys were able to dominate on the road. The Panthers beat up on Green Forest by a score of 81-37.

The Ozark Mountain girls picked up an easy victory at Western Grove. The Lady Bears thrashed Eureka Springs 57-18.
