High school basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule as Mountain Home will wrap up its run of four straight road trips. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will have Round Two with their fiercest rivals from Harrison.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently ranked fourth in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media, and they’re tied for first place in the 5A-West with Greenwood. The Lady Bombers are 18-6 on the season and 7-1 in the league after picking up a 10-point win at Siloam Springs. Harrison is 10-12 and 4-4 as they come off a seven-point victory at Alma. Mountain Home defeated the Lady Goblins 48-26 on Jan. 9.
The Bomber boys are 17-7 overall and 5-3 in the 5A-West as they are tied for third in the conference with Russellville. Mountain Home ended up with a 10-point win over Siloam Springs on Friday. Harrison is 16-8 and 4-4 after losing to Alma. The Bombers got past the Goblins 65-57 in overtime nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity games tip off at 4:30 at Goblin Arena. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Greenbrier travels to Russellville, Siloam Springs hosts Alma, and Van Buren entertains Greenwood.
Elsewhere, Mountain Home Christian Academy makes the trip to Omaha, Cotter heads to Jasper, Norfork travels to Melbourne, Flippin is home against West Fork, Yellville-Summit hosts Kingston, Viola’s girls entertain Tuckerman, the Viola boys are home against Winona, Mo., Calico Rock makes the trip to Pangburn, Gainesville’s boys head to Fordland, Salem travels to Mammoth Spring, Izard County hosts Rural Special, Marshall makes the trip to Bay, Lead Hill entertains Ozark Mountain, and Bergman is home against Valley Springs.
