Kyle McCarn selected as new Superintendent of Viola Public Schools

On Tuesday, Viola Public School District Board of Education announced the selection of Kyle McCarn as the district’s next superintendent. McCarn, who is currently serving as Principal at Mountain Home Junior High, is set to begin his role July 1 as he replaces John May when it was announced in January his contract would not be renewed.
McCarn spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News about the opportunity and what the students, teachers and parents can expect from him.

With over 20 years of experience, McCarn has been in school administration in Mountain Home since 2013. He has served as Junior High Principal, High School Assistant Principal, teacher and coach. McCarn’s experience prior to serving in the Mountain Home School District includes three years as a teacher and coach at the Mountain View School District and Clinton School District. He has a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
