FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Behind Reis Beuerlein’s two-hit, complete-game shutout, the No. 14 Arkansas softball team overpowered UT-Arlington to cruise to a 10-0 (5 inn.) win Sunday at Bogle Park.
The Razorbacks improve to 13-3 overall and 5-1 at home this season.
Arkansas dominated opponents during their six-game Razorback Invitational slate, outscoring opponents 49-7. The Hogs twirled four shutouts, including the program’s second-ever perfect game by Robyn Herron against Illinois State on Feb. 24. The Razorbacks outhit opponents at a 50-27 clip.
Reis Beuerlein (2-0) went the distance vs. the Mavericks, delivering a two-hit shutout with three strikeouts across five innings. The Cave Creek, Ariz., product worked around one walk and retired 15 of 18 batters faced. Beuerlein retired 12 straight between the first and fifth frames.
After the Hogs and UT-Arlington exchanges zeroes in the first two innings, Arkansas utilized an eight-run third to break the game open. The Razorbacks combined for 10 runs on 10 hits, including five for extra bases.
Reagan Johnson, Kennedy Miller and Raigan Kramer chipped in two hits apiece. Pinch-hitting in the bottom of the fourth, Carlee Ratcliff hit her first career home run as a Razorback – a two-run tower to center field. Lauren Camenzind continued her hot streak and brought in two runs on a double to right center in the third.
The Razorbacks continue their homestand with the Wooo Pig Classic Thursday through Sunday at Bogle Park. Arkansas kicks off the weekend with a 4 p.m. clash vs. South Dakota State on Thursday. The game will be available on SEC Network+.
