A home visit to a Paragould man’s “lake home” by probation and parole officers has resulted in a total of 16 drug charges being filed against him. The man, 45-year-old John Dewayne Allen, has a history of drug arrests and is also being charged as a habitual offender.
According to the probable cause affidavit, officers from the Mountain Home Police Department and Baxter County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the home visit. Allen advised officers he answered the door the house is his “lake home” when they asked if he lived there.
During a search of the home, officers found 14 different types of controlled substances, mostly in the bedroom. The drugs were in glass jars and baggies. Drugs found included marijuana, fentanyl, ecstasy, psilocybin mushrooms, hashish, strips of suboxione, hyrdocodone, amphetamine and dextroamphetamine pills, oxycodone, alprazolam and clonazepam. Drug paraphernalia including numerous meth pipes and straws with residue, new meth pipes, new glass meth pipes and digital scales were found. Officers also found $1,100 in cash.
Officers also found pills that were not identifiable due to markings being worn, some that appeared to be homemade and some that were unable to obtain a positive test for any common drugs.
Allen told investigators the drugs belonged to his son who died last month and he had brought the drugs from Paragould to Mountain Home to dispose of them, but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. He assured officers he would never sell drugs.
A review of Allen’s criminal history reveals a lengthy history with numerous felonious convictions, including for selling controlled substances.
Allen is facing 16 felony charges in connection with his latest arrest plus an enhancement charge of being a habitual offender.
