The 16th Annual Arkansas State Archery Championship was held this weekend in Hot Springs and area schools are well represented on both the individual and team leader boards.
On the high school level, in team events, Valley Springs finished second, Bergman was fourth, Omaha was 13th, Lead Hill finished 16th, Jasper ended up 17th, and Marshall was 29th.
Individually, Lead Hill’s Hunter Ricketts was the overall winner with a score of 292, scoring 25 tens. Jacob Roberts from Bergman tied for third with a score of 289 which included 20 tens. Bergman’s Logan Wilkinson was right behind with a 288, including 21 tens, to finish sixth.
Reagan Day of Valley Springs was the highest scoring girl from the area. She had a score of 286, which included 18 tens, to finish 12th overall. She finished fourth amongst the girls
In the middle school competition, Valley Springs finished fifth, Bergman was eighth, Omaha was ninth, Lead Hill finished 15th, Jasper was 21st, and Marshall was 28th.
Individually, Ashtin Sullins of Valley Springs finished second with a score of 287 which included 19 tens and Marshall’s Briar Griffith had 10 tens to score 284 and finish sixth.
The highest finishing middle school girl from the area was Omaha’s Autumn Pospichal who was 38th overall and the 16th ranked girl.
In the elementary competition, Valley Springs finished second, Omaha was eighth, Bergman finished tenth, Lead Hill was 13th, Jasper wound up 15th and Deer/Mount Judea was 16th.
In individual results, Valley Springs’ Jhett Jennett was the winner with a score of 280 which included 16 tens. Tyton Harper from Leslie was fourth with a score of 276 which had 16 tens. Adarah Carter from Valley Springs was eighth overall and the top ranked girl after shooting 267 with 11 tens. Finishing tenth was Coy Walker from Leslie with a 267 which included 10 tens.
