OEM Director says an equipment fault caused midnight siren sounding

Baxter County residents may have been confused and surprised to hear emergency sirens sounding at midnight Tuesday morning when no severe weather was forecast in the area at the time.

KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News spoke with Baxter County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Director David Stultz about the cause and he states it was an equipment fault which caused the misfire.

The OEM Director will be doing more tests today but he is confident the system will function properly in an emergency situation.
