A rural Mountain Home woman is accused of intentionally lighting a bus being used for storage on fire at property in Dora this past summer. Twenty-six-year-old Taylor Haden was booked into the Ozark County Jail Feb. 16 on felony counts of knowingly burning or exploding and first-degree property damage.

According to a probable cause statement from a Missouri State Fire Marshal’s officer, the bus caught fire July 1. The property owner advised the bus was not operational, but it was being used to store various items.

On Feb. 6, a witness told Ozark County authorities he observed Haden drive onto the property. The witness claims to have walked to the rear of the property where the bus and Haden’s vehicle were parked. The witness alleges Haden used a lighter to start the blaze.

Several items inside the bus were damaged including a Hereford roping saddle with an estimated value of $750, leather horse tackles at $200, a horse blanket at $200, spurs at $80 and items of clothing, pictures and belongings of the victim’s deceased father valued at $200.

Haden’s cash-only bond was set at $1,500. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April 23.
