Many gathered throughout the Twin Lakes Area to view the total solar eclipse on Monday. Flippin’s Hickey Park is among the locations where people came from several different areas to view the event, and Mayor Heith Hogan says influx began on Saturday.

Hogan spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News nearly 20 minutes before totality began. He says there were nearly 200 individuals at the park if not more.

Hogan says while walking around Hickey Park, he had the opportunity to meet with several visitors and learn where they were from. He says there was a group of college students at the park.
