MHHS boys finish 3rd, girls end up 5th in Zizzer Relays

Mountain Home was among a few area high school track teams in West Plains for the Zizzer Relays.

The Bombers finished third on the boys’ side. West Plains won the event, Dora was tied for seventh place, Ava ended up 12th, Gainesville took 20th place, and Mountain Home Christian Academy finished 21st.

Individually for Mountain Home, Eli Jones won the discus, Zach Daugherty won the pole vault, William Hill won the 800-meter run, Connor King won the 3200-meter run, Adam Jones was second in the pole vault, Barrett Miller ended up second in the 100-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter dash, David Baxley took third place in the pole vault, and Robert Dover finished third in the shot put and fourth in the discus. The team of Trenton Smith, Garrett Barr, Caden Triantos and King won the 4×800-meter relay; Miller, Connor Schulz, Barr and Smith were second in the 4×400-meter relay; and Tyler Lukac, Brayden Yates, Ondrej Mastalka and Caiden Kaspar ended up fifth in the 4000-meter distance medley relay.

A few other area athletes among the boys picked up individual wins. Dora’s Cade Nold won the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. For West Plains, Andrew Jacobs won the triple jump and the long jump; Jaxon Hunter won the shot put; Carson King won the 1600-meter run; William Stauffer, Lincoln Miller, Trentin Jeffords and Zackery Tinsley won the 4×200-meter relay; and Tinsley, Lincoln Miller, Andrew Jacobs and Stauffer won the 4×100-meter relay.

In the girls’ results, Mountain Home took fifth place. Ozark won the meet, West Plains finished second, Dora was 11th, and Gainesville ended up in a tie for 13th place.

For the Lady Bombers, Micayla Magis won the discus, Camilla Johnson took fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles, and Deanna Human finished fifth in the triple jump. The team of Merritt McConnell, Anna McCarn, Camilla Johnson and Bailey Ritenburg was third in the 4×400-meter relay; and McConnell, Jada Johnson, Ali Czanstkowski and Camilla Johnson ended up fourth in the 4×200-meter relay.

West Plains had a few indiviudal wins on the girls’ side. Mylea Adams won the long jump and the triple jump; Ashlyn Tinsley won the high jump; and Emily Ritter, Karlee Romans, Addison Sanders and Seri King won the 4×800-meter relay.
