Big Creek Golf and Country Club is scheduled for a quick renovation. Hole 4 will likely be closed Monday for an improvement in its bunker.

According to a news release from Big Creek, Superintendent Brent Edens’ plan is to raise the surface of the green surround at the highest point around 6-to-8 inches and extend the bunker closer toward the flag. He will also bring the lip of the bunker back closer to the tee box slightly.

Big Creek officials say it’s their hope to discourage players from entering the bunker at that point, make it a little tougher to play a bounce straight ahead and improve water flow. Edens will also change the elevation of a couple of sprinkler heads to improve the reach to areas of the green.

Edens expects Hole 4 to be reopened Tuesday. The greens will also be top-dressed that day.
