MHHS track teams win Bomber Relays

The Mountain Home High School track teams wrapped up its regular season on a successful note Wednesday at Bomber Stadium. Both of the host teams won the Bomber Relays on Senior Day.

On the girls’ side, Yellville-Summit finished second, Mountain View was third, Harrison ended up fourth, Salem took fifth place, Rural Special finished sixth, Melbourne was eighth, Omaha ended up ninth, Flippin took 10th place, Timbo finished 12th, and Mountain Home Christian Academy was 14th.

Individually for Mountain Home’s girls, Micayla Magis won the discus; Merritt McConnell won the 200-meter dash and ended up second in the 100-meter dash and the long jump; Jada Johnson took second place in the 200-meter dash; Camilla Johnson finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter hurdles; Ali Czanstkowski was second in the high jump, fourth in the javelin and fifth in the long jump and the 100-meter hurdles; Kori Scroggins ended up second in the discus and fifth in the shot put; Erin Smith took second place in the 1600-meter run and fifth in the 800-meter run; Devyn Prins finished third in the discus and the javelin; Malia Beshears was third in the 1600-meter run; Mackenzi Clark ended up third in the 400-meter dash; Bailey Ritenburg took third place in the 800-meter run; Cisily Goettler finished third in the 3200-meter run; Olivia McCoy was third in the pole vault and fifth in the 200-meter dash; Kenna Medley ended up fourth in the discus and the shot put; Pixie Bolick took fourth place in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles; and Jamie Chandler finished fourth in the 3200-meter run. The Lady Bombers’ team of McConnell, Jada Johnson, Czanstkowski and Camilla Johnson won the 4×100-meter and 4×200-meter relays; and McConnell, Clark, Ritenburg and Bolick won the 4×400-meter relay.

Among other athletes, KJ-Keirstin Moore of Yellville-Summit won the javelin and the 100-meter hurdles; Yellville-Summit’s Fay Chism won the pole vault; Riley Hopson of Yellville-Summit won the 3200-meter run; Salem’s Marleigh Sellars won the 100-meter and 400-meter dashes; Madi Price of Salem won the shot put; Mountain View’s Kaitlyn McCarn won the high jump; Ellie Akins of Mountain View won the 1600-meter run; Mountain View’s Emma Akins won the 800-meter run; and Laiklyn Stephens of Harrison won the long jump, the triple jump and the 300-meter hurdles. Omaha’s team of Morgan Schmidt, Topanga Rodriguez, Maddie Pyshny and Brooklyn Stone won the 4×800-meter relay.

On the boys’ side, Harrison was second, Yellville-Summit ended up third, Melbourne took fourth place, Salem finished fifth, Mountain View and Omaha were part of a three-way tie for sixth place, Flippin ended up ninth, Timbo took 10th place, Mountain Home Christian Academy finished 11th, Rural Special was 12th, and Bakersfield ended up 13th.

For Mountain Home, William Hill won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, Adam Jones won the pole vault, Barrett Miller won the 100-meter dash, Eli Jones won the shot put and took second place in the discus, Robert Dover won the discus and finished second in the javelin and third in the shot put, Talan Palmer won the long jump and was third in the 100-meter dash, Hendrix Hughes won the 3200-meter run and ended up third in the 800-meter run, Zach Daugherty took second place in the pole vault, Connor King finished second in the 1600-meter run, Gus Wilber was second in the 300-meter hurdles, Caden Triantos ended up second in the 800-meter run, Taylon Peterson took second place in the triple jump and fifth in the high jump, Levi Uchtman finished third in the high jump, David Baxley was third in the pole vault, Trenton Smith ended up third in the 1600-meter run, Garrett Barr finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles, Zack Sanders was fourth in the discus and fifth in the shot put, and Orion Reuscher ended up fifth in the 300-meter hurdles. The Bombers’ team of Palmer, Baxley, Connor Schulz and Miller won the 4×100-meter relay. In the 4×400-meter relay, Miller, Palmer, King and Hill came away with the win; Wilber, Barr, Schulz and Smith took second place; and Peterson, Caiden Kaspar, Reuscher and Levi Payne finished fifth. Peterson, Kaeden Dotson, Anthony Milbourne and Jacob Bellomy were third in the 4×200-meter relay.

Among some of the other area boys’ teams, Kaden Wendfeldt of Mountain Home Christian Academy won the high jump, Yellville-Summit’s Rafe Heap won the javelin, Carson Medina of Melbourne won the 400-meter dash, Harrison’s Noah Morris won the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, Jake Massey of Harrison won the 200-meter dash, and Omaha’s Trey Searle won the triple jump. Kaden Brink, Cole Stemen, Jackson Taylor and Dylan Gaskins of Salem won the 4×200-meter relay; and Harrison’s Gavin Coker, James McNew, Samuel Earnest and Conner Valentine won the 4×800-meter relay.
