Friday schedule includes MHHS softball team hosting Marshall

High school baseball and softball make up much of the local Friday schedule.

The Mountain Home High School softball team will return to the home turf as they welcome Marshall to McClain Park. The varsity game at Freedom Field begins at 5 followed by the junior varsity contest.

Elsewhere, Cotter hosts Flippin, Norfork entertains Greers Ferry West Side, Viola travels to Calico Rock, Salem makes the trip to Cave City, Izard County is home against South Side-Bee Branch, Melbourne heads to Walnut Ridge, Mountain View hosts Newport, and Lead Hill travels to Jasper.

Mountain Home’s junior varsity baseball team is also set to be at McClain Park as they go up against West Plains for a doubleheader. The first game at Pitts Field starts at 4.

On the varsity level, two area teams will begin action in the Southern Missouri Invitational at Dora. The host Falcons face Hartville at noon, and Bakersfield takes on Hartville at 2 and Dora at 4.

In other high school baseball, Norfork entertains Greers Ferry West Side, Flippin makes the trip to Guy-Perkins, Yellville-Summit heads to Rose Bud, Viola travels to Calico Rock, Salem is home against Cave City, Izard County hosts South Side-Bee Branch, Melbourne makes the trip to Walnut Ridge, Mountain View entertains Newport, Lead Hill heads to Jasper, Bergman travels to Hollister, Valley Springs makes the trip to Clinton, Harrison is home against Gravette, Omaha hosts Alpena, and Ozark Mountain entertains Eureka Springs.
