Roark graduated from Melbourne High School in 2021 as a member of a Lady Bearkatz basketball program that had just won its third of four consecutive Class 2A state championships. She was a two-time member of the All-State Tournament team.

Roark was on two other state championship teams during her time at Melbourne. She was an All-State runner when the Lady Bearkatz won the Class 2A state cross country title in the fall of 2018. The following spring, Melbourne’s girls won the state track and field championship. Roark was selected All-State and was part of the team that won the 4×800-meter relay.

Roark says she should learn next week when her first official day is on the job. She and Mountain Home High School head coach Dell Leonard will have a few days next week to introduce her to her future players.

Roark will succeed Jamie Rodgers, whose resignation became effective April 10.
