The recent rainfall in Arkansas and Missouri has caused the levels on area waterways to rise. Currently, no portion of the Buffalo National River is at a flood stage, and Norfork and Bull Shoals lakes remain well below flood pools.

Levels at Norfork Lake have risen nearly a foot-and-a-half since Monday. As of 4 Tuesday morning, the lake was at 555.48 feet. Normal elevation is 553.75 feet, and the top flood pool is 580.

At Bull Shoals Lake, the levels have risen over two feet since Sunday. Bull Shoals Lake was 660.1 feet at 4 Tuesday morning. The normal pool is 659 feet, and the flood pool is 695.

The U.S. Geological Survey shows the Buffalo River at a high water level in four areas. At 4:45 Tuesday morning, the river was at 10.2 feet at Harriet, 10.24 feet near St. Joe, 7.28 feet at Pruitt and 4.98 feet at Ponca.

The latest forecast has rain chances returning Thursday and continuing through at least Monday.
