MHHS softball team scores 37 runs while sweeping doubleheader at Alma

The Mountain Home High School softball team plated several runs as they were able to sweep a doubleheader over Alma in their conference finale on Tuesday. The mercy rule was needed in the opener, and extra innings were necessary in the second game.
The first game was called after the fifth inning as the Lady Bombers routed the Lady Airedales 15-4. Emma King led Mountain Home by going 3-for-4 and driving in four runs; Libby Dewey was 3-for-4; Laken Anderson went 2-for-4 with three RBIs; Kiley Horne was 2-for-4 with an RBI; Natalie Fleet went 2-for-4; Brooklyn Arms was 2-for-5 with two RBIs; and Daelyn Harper went 1-for-2, drew a walk and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.
The second game was a high-scoring affair that needed 10 innings to complete, but the Lady Bombers were able to get past Alma 22-20. Harper ended up with two home runs, including this one.

That was Dylan Connelly with the call on the Bomber Sports Network. Harper was 3-for-7 with four RBIs. Fleet went 4-for-6, was hit by a pitch and drove in four runs; Anderson was 4-for-7 with two RBIs; Karleigh Drewry went 4-for-7 and drove in a run; Arms was 3-for-6 with a sacrifice bunt and two RBIs; Jayla Yonkers went 2-for-5, drew a walk and drove in a run; Horne was 2-for-6 with two RBIs, including one on a sacrifice fly; and Dewey went 2-for-6, provided a sacrifice bunt and drove in a run.
Mountain Home improves to 15-11 on the season and 10-4 in the 5A-West, and they’ll finish the regular season on Friday by hosting Vilonia.

In other softball, Bakersfield beat up on Koshkonong 17-6, and Harrison swept a doubleheader over Siloam Springs with scores of 12-1 and 10-0.

In high school baseball, Bakersfield pounded Koshkonong 13-2, Gainesville topped Ava 5-1, and Dora fell to Seymour 4-0.
